The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) engaged Deecon to conduct an in-depth study of the UK’s Advanced Connectivity Technologies (ACT) sector, building on earlier market scoping work.
Strategic Defence Procurement
Deecon delivered a first‑of‑its‑kind procurement and contracting solution for a secure defence client, supporting a new and untested requirement. Through embedded delivery, robust governance support and tailored NEC contract advice, the procurement was delivered on time to enable wider mission objectives, established a best‑in‑class precedent, and achieved £3m savings, representing a 13% reduction in total contract value.
Strategic Recovery and Sourcing
Deecon delivered a strategic procurement programme for a secure defence client, restoring momentum and enabling on‑time contract award aligned to wider mission objectives. Our intervention reduced commercial risk, strengthened delivery confidence and achieved 8% cost avoidance against the total contract value.
Value for Money Benchmarking
Deecon were tasked with performing a Value for Money (VfM) review of a large first-generation, outsourced service worth ~£700 million. The review was conducted in a condensed three-month timeline and was delivered on time with praise from the Client on our approach, engagement and quality of deliverables.
Procurement Framework
Deecon was engaged by Associated British Ports (ABP) to manage the end-to-end procurement of their largest national framework agreement for a projected spend of £400M+ over 5 years. This framework required suitable suppliers to design and construct various industrial buildings across all ABP ports in 5 regions of the UK.
Capital Delivery Improvement
Deecon were engaged as part of a wider team to review, design and recommend the preferred option for a new procurement and supply chain operating model. Deecon’s specific focus was on leading the Capital Delivery Improvement Programme. Collaborative workshops were conducted with key Capital stakeholders.
