Summary

Deecon were awarded the contract to support a UK public sector organisation in enforcing sanctions. The team carried out comprehensive, highly confidential, open-source research to unearth the required information, presenting our findings to key Client stakeholders after the investigation into each data tranche had been completed. 

The Requirement

Deecon was engaged by a UK public sector organisation to support strategic research and due diligence activities, providing investigative research and analysis services to inform decision-making.

The Solution

The engagement involved conducting open-source intelligence and research activities focused on individuals and organisations. This research was divided into many aspects, including, assets, corporate registrations, ownership structures, and locations. Findings were collated and analysed to support the Client’s broader strategic objectives. 

The Client provided data tranches containing research briefs and priorities. Deecon conducted research in line with investigative and process standards that had been developed by the Client. Supplementing the ~130 research items in the first tranche of data, Deecon produced a report summarising the information captured during the research, revised and enhanced the data capture template, and showcased lessons learnt during the first exercise. A similar approach to gathering lessons learnt and embedding continuous improvement initiatives was deployed throughout the engagement. 

The Results

Deecon were able to respond flexibly and consistently, and to draw on a range of skills and strengths in areas such as data analysis, project management, managing complexity, sustainable knowledge transfer and collaboration. Deecon now provide long-term availability to carry out research as and when required. 

Deecon worked closely with the Contract Lead to ensure that the research findings met the required Client benchmarks. Following the initial engagement, a further five similar projects have been completed.
