Fleet & Logistics Future Strategy
Deecon partnered with Cadent to undertake a comprehensive fleet and logistics optimisation programme, combining advanced data analysis, forecasting and operational modelling to assess transport routes, driver utilisation, inventory management and secondary store strategy. By consolidating and analysing historic workload, material consumption patterns and operational performance data, Deecon identified opportunities to optimise resource deployment and reduce inventory holdings.
Transformation Property Strategy Development
Deecon partnered with SGN to develop a Transformation Property Strategy aligned to its future nine-region Target Operating Model (TOM), ensuring the property estate could effectively support evolving operational requirements. Working to an accelerated delivery programme, Deecon undertook detailed estate analysis, stakeholder engagement, spatial mapping and financial modelling. This enabled the identification of optimisation opportunities, validation of property requirements and assessment of buy-versus-rent options using Net Present Value (NPV) analysis. The resulting GD3-ready strategy provided a future-state property portfolio, prioritised investment roadmap and evidence-based recommendations to improve operational coverage, enhance efficiency, strengthen health and safety outcomes, and support long-term estate decision-making.
Market Insights
Deecon was engaged by The Clancy Group to assess growth opportunities across three key sectors, gas, data centres and power, to inform their five-year strategic plan and underpin the revenue targets they had set. Working closely with key senior stakeholders, Deecon built a detailed understanding of current strengths and capabilities, as well as those in development.
Drawing on market trends, investment activity, regulatory shifts and government policy, the resulting report identified 15 quick wins and 10 strategic opportunities for Clancy to consider for their strategic plan. Delivered as a comprehensive 120-page slide pack, the report provided granular, evidence-based detail on each opportunity, along with clear steps to maximise its chances of success.
Unit 1, 2, and 3 Outages Claim
Following completion of works, Rainham Industrial Services (RIS) incurred significant costs above contract value due to in-life variations and extensions of time throughout delivery.
RIS engaged Deecon to support the recovery of these costs and develop a strategy to resolve the commercial disputes. With Deecon’s support, RIS successfully resolved the matters in dispute through mediation.
Logistics Business Process Mapping
Deecon were engaged by SGN to conduct as-is mapping workshops of logistics processes, gather and analyse pain points, and design and map to-be processes. Deecon delivered 42 as-is maps, 37 to-be maps, and eight Level 2 and 3 maps, as well as a Current State Assessment, a Future State Design, and a Gap Analysis Report.
Strategic Sourcing
Biogen were undergoing a significant growth period, expanding their site network to drive crucial developments in the biowaste sector whilst aligning with the government’s 2036 targets. Deecon were engaged to facilitate a strategic sourcing project, to drive standardised and sustainable procurement practices to support their growth. Deecon identified that operational inefficiencies were impeding effective procurement.
Contract and ROI Calculator Support
Deecon delivered a targeted commercial support programme for EVlution Point Limited, optimising their ROI Calculation Tool and developing a suite of commercial contracts. The engagement resulted in enhanced operational flexibility, improved contract management, and a bespoke ROI tool tailored to stakeholder needs.
WIP Recovery
Deecon partnered with Avove to recover significant outstanding Work in Progress (WIP) across multiple contracts and paused orders. Through a structured four-step approach—data gathering, WIP tracking, validation, and prioritisation—Deecon identified and substantiated over £2.57 million in WIP across 445 projects, with the majority prioritised as quick wins. This process enabled Avove to reclaim funds efficiently, validate over 400 final accounts, and replicate the success across additional workstreams.

The project aimed to strengthen Aquamain’s commercial capabilities and supplier management as they transitioned from a sole water self-lay provider (SLP) to a multi-utilites (MU) provider.
Capital Programme Commercial Support
Deecon delivered targeted commercial management support to UK Power Networks’ Capital Programme and Procurement function, driving cost control, process optimisation, and robust contract management across multiple live projects.
Opportunity Assessment
Deecon were engaged by SGN to onboard additional Contractors for mains replacement works and conduct an opportunity assessment within the Procurement and Supply Chain Function. The team identified 36 recommendations.
Process Review
Deecon were engaged by Antin Infrastructure Partners to undertake an evaluation of SNRG’s processes. A three-workstream approach was adopted to conduct the task: Process Review, Supply Chain Analysis and Systems Validation.
ProScope Implementation
Deecon were engaged to understand whether ProScope was the right fit for Avove’s commercial and operational requirements. Through stakeholder engagements, system reviews, and technical workshops, Deecon produced a Final Recommendation Report. This included quick-wins and longer-term strategic recommendations.
Commercial Review
Deecon were engaged by JSM to deliver four key functions. This included conducting an operational review to better understand where efficiencies could be unlocked. A contractual review to define the terms of the contract, a systems review in order to determine the suitability of the systems, and a review of JSM’s commercial performance.
Dispute Resolution
After the completion of works RIS had incurred significant costs over and above the contract value, due to in-life variations and extensions of time. RIS engaged Deecon to support the cost recovery process. By driving the process forward, RIS with the support of Deecon, were able to successfully close the matters in dispute at Mediation.
Capital Infrastructure Renewal
Thames Water is delivering the sector’s largest capital infrastructure renewal programme (circa £4bn every AMP). Deecon supported Thames Water across multiple projects within the programme, including Commercial Close Out, Procurement and BAU. Deecon unlocked significant cost savings, and operational efficiencies for Thames Water.
AMP7 Procurement Programme
Deecon were engaged to assist the procurement process for Bristol Water’s Asset Management Plan 7 (AMP7) Network Maintenance contract. Bristol Water were seeking to deliver sustainable cost savings whilst meeting regulatory targets.
